Q: I just reformatted and Windows XP Pro installed. Before it again, every once in a while it would depend on the loading screen (the one where the bar keeps moving side to side) but now every time that it takes so long to open windows! whats going on?

Re:Hmmmm – that happened to me when i UPGRADED my system from 98SE. It was left-over drivers of my C-Media 8738. Iknow you just formatted – but did you install any windows 2000/98/ME drivers? If you got XP drivers, get certified drivers. The C-Media drivers which i got through windows update were not certified but they worked.

yes, definitely try BootVis. i had some troubles with long boot times, but this utility pretty much took care of it
