Q: Ok I tryed hardrives TWO TWO! Not too long ago muh computer just slowed down to a crawl! So I had a virus, but then I got rid of i dont think a problem and somehow drive my car turned to PIO and DMA was wtf. Ok Well I for my 2k format, which is so so slow on my old Windows XP to try! When I am in XP I let it go and go and I grabbed Quick Format NTFS and it starts and stops at 20%! I have tryed other format options, and also three times it said my HDD is damage. I have an old 2gb I tryed stopped @ 20% also. To make sure I wasnt dead xp cd I tried another copy and the same! Im stuck so now im using Windows Server 2003 Evaluation copy unbreakable. Oh ya Windows 2000 Pro. formats and install perfectly.

On an unrelated note: have you tried googling the motherboard that you have to check and see if there are any problems with its windows xp compatibility.
BTW, you may be ready for spyordie but I doubt he's ready for you 
#1 yep i copyed from my anandtech rig thing.
#2 i had xp on this exact mobo b4 my pc starting to SLOW down badly.
#3 i havent changed anything, all i did was clean virus and try to format to xp.

I had an Abit mobo that would not install with 2 cdroms on it. The W2K cd would get confused. Did you flash the bios from what was on it following initial install?

Point # 1 – The way that you are talking is that this system ran without any problems for some unspecified time? Is this true? If so then did you flash the BIOS? Have you flashed back.
Point #2 – is this all on the primary IDE controller? Or on an add in card/Promise/HighPoint Controller? If so have you tried to move the drive back to the Primary IDE? Do you have more then 1 CD-Rom in the system? Have you removed or disconnected the second CD-rom?
Point #3 – What do you have in the system? Kinda hard to troubleshoot if you don't give a goo description of the HW.
