Re:ALright, I had the same problem with my dual boot w2k & win98se.
I tried the quick repair trick, but it didnt fix the problem. I was able to boot fine only as long as I had the win2k cd in the drive.

SO I re-installed both Os's.

NOw the message shows up but allows me to boot without the CD.

I'm gonna get rid of my Win2k boot altogether, so I dont really need this NT detection file thingamajig.
Does anyone know where this is triggered? and how to stop it from doing whatever it's trying to do? (I assume it has something to do with NTSF)

Re:I would boot from the XP CD and tell it to do a quick fix on the Windows XP install you have already. Should just reinstall the system files and you will still have all your data and devices and such. No big deal. My lil bro does that kinda stuff all the time. -TAL
