Q: Every time I open a new document in Word, I got this. PDF Maker toolbar that takes a whole toolbar with three icons, and the review of the Drawing toolbar and toolbar as well. I shut them down every time, but can not figure out how to get word to save this settings.
Also, every time I save the document, the. Pdf toolbar reappears.
How can I fix this?
Thanks.

Re:I did notice Acrobat Assistant in the Startup folder. Any idea if deleting that will prevent it from automatically loading with MS Office?
I seriously doubt that. I put up with this nonsense for quite some time before I did the uninstall/reinstall. I really don't know how to fix this. Anyone else care to help?

Re:That's how I normally do my .pdfs. Unfortunatly, this is a corporate laptop and they installed everything this way. I'm tempted to try your suggestion re: the uninstall/reinstall, but am concernred that it will mess up integration with some of our database software.

Re:Yes, the .pdf maker thing won't go away because it's one of those macros that doesn't go away. The way I fixed it was to uninstall both Acrobat. Then reinstall Acrobat, but this time don't select any option that integrates it with Word or Office or anything like that. (If you're concerned about making pdf's from Word documents, there's an easier way). Doing this will not only make the pdf toolbar go away, but you'll also notice Word load up a little faster
The easier way of making pdf's from Word docs is to go to File->Print and then select your printer as "Adobe PDF" and when you click 'OK', it will ask you where to save the PDF file and voila! Forget the whole .pdf maker crap because it only has a few more options but it's not worth the trouble.
Word of Mouth Magic
Re:Thanks – I did what you suggested and it worked for all the toolbars except the .pdf maker toolbar. That one came back when I reopened word.
Is that something that needs to be set through Acrobat?

Re:I don't think there's such a thing as Word 2002. Anyway, you can go to Tools->Customize and under the Toolbar tab, uncheck the pdf stuff.
That's actually not the annoying part, what's more annoying is that a lot of macros are also installed when you install Acrobat. This makes loading Word a pain for slow systems as it takes 2-3 times the time.
