Q: topic says it all. The reason I ask is because I heard that nvidia against using Artic Silver paste part of HSF on the GPU, and how come manufacureres always use silicon wafers that stuff?

Re:I put a Alpha 55mm heatsink on a Gainward 128mb Ti200 with some AS thermal adhesive (full strength) and it works great. Slapped on the quietest 50mm fan I could find, and it was good to go. Here are some pics..

Actually, I'd imagine that the "ghetto method" would be better. When using AS epoxy, the AS itself is diluted with epoxy. In the other method, the AS is free to function undiluted, while the epoxy/superglue keeps the heatsink held in place.
I imagine the reason they might advice against Arctic Silver on their GPU's is that it can cause problems if it gushes over the edge onto the contacts.
