would like to save downloads from IE6 on different operating systems [quot quot] [oses]

Q: I tried the instructions to do this

First, download the IE6 SP1 setup program from here (500kb basic setup program. IE The entire package may go as high as 44 ~ MB, depending on your selection). This tip will let you customize the d / l parameters.

Go to the folder where you placed the above file. Open a Command Prompt (CMD) in that folder, then the following command in the CMD window:

ie6setup.exe / c: “Ie6wzd.exe / d / s run:” “# E”

Note: Copy and paste the above rule. Try not a wise guy. Copy the damn line! I received a large number of feedback about the accuracy of this tip, and always they got the wrong syntax. Copy and paste! Oh, and yes, it works for IE 6 SP1 too, and so will older IE versions. Simply replace the “6″ on the previous line with a “5″ and so on.

You can also choose to download all IE versions at once. For example, if you choose to download the version for Win9X, the version for NT, the version for W2K, and the version for Win ME – all files will go to one location – a folder named “Windows Update Setup Files” – and you This folder can then burn a CD and use it to IE to install on an OS version you are downloading 2 files and want.

but completed. What am I doing wrong or is this just not possible?

Thanks,

guy: confused:

Re:My theory involves trying to obtain an MSN or AOL signup CD, which oftentimes includes the full distribution versions of the most recent, or sometimes even also prior versions of IE. They're generally given away for free, so might as well check that out, no?

Re:Here is my experience using that method.

Re:For general information, you can download a "full" IE6 installer that will work on WinNT 4.0, Win98/ME, Win2000 and WinXP if you use a Win98 system as the gofer. It has an Advanced button that allows you to select the OS's you want to save IE for, and download for later installation. At least until Windows Update no longer supports Win98, anyway.

Re:Evolt's Browser Archive (http://browsers.evolt.org).

Much easier.

Re:http://www.petri.co.il/download_the_full_ie_package.htm

You've opened up a command prompt IN THE FOLDER WHERE YOU DOWNLOADED THE ie6setup.exe file?

I just followed the instructions and downloaded a full 11mb of files. You must be doing something wrong.
