Q: Are the markings on the die itself to the 1800 “PR” or the 1530 actual rate or anything else to say?
Best Answer: Yes you should change your password and possibly e-mail if something if a hacker has hacked your page.
Re:Some dude in the cpu forum got one up to 1.8
And Locked too! :Q
Major Tightness.

yeah, the easy solution is to OC it to it's rating number… ![]()

Re:Well, you can always use a Windows utility like CPUid.
Re:<< "I just wonder what speed it will show at post after some OCing."
From what I understand, the BIOS won't POST a mhz at all, even when overclocking. It just posts the "Model number" of the cpu. >>
That's no fun, part of overclocking is seeing that mhz number show up… ![]()

Re:Check in the CPU forum…
Looks like their rating system=overclocking potential.
A guy has his 1.53 @ 1.8 GHz…
Re:Since no one really answered your question:
Amd is calling this a "Quanti-speed Technology" and the number of MHz given is approx. the actual core clock + 300 MHz (because supposedly those CPUs perform similarly to a P4 clocked 300 MHz higher).

Re:The key is not to flash an "XP" BIOS in to your older mainboard. The XP will run just fine on boards which currently support the MP (like 8K7A). You will see the actual clock speed, not a PR rating. Not that it matters. I'll always know the FSB and multiplier I've set, so I don't care what the BIOS says.

Yes, I want to know also… It would be funny if you OC to 1.6-1.7 GHz, and it says something like XP2200 at POST. ![]()
Re:The chip itself says 1800. Take a look in the CPu forum – there are a number of links to pics.
Re:<< Supposedly within Windows it will show the actual clock speed. Are you too lazy to do the math? FSB x Multiplier = clock speed. >>
its not about the math… know that fsb x mult = clock speed… but if the chip is right in front of me i wanna know how fast it is

Re:As far as I am aware they will only show the model number (XP 1800???) on the chip NOT the Mhz OR PR Rating.
But as far as I am aware the model number includes the PR rating so I guess in a round-about sort of way, they are showing the PR rating on the die.
Maybe someone has more information?
